Dog Calming Spray

If you have a nervous, or over excitable, dog then you've probably looked in to some of the dog calming spray products available on the market.
Most of the dog calming spray products that you find in major pet shops are a mix of artificial chemicals, with some added aromas to make you feel better about using the product!
At Holistic Hounds, we offer a range of aromatherapy spritz sprays, two of which can be used as a dog calming spray.
In our dog calming spray, we only use true hydrosols. A true hydrosol is the byproduct of extracting an essential oil from a plant. By using the hydrosol, you can lower the intensity of the essential oil, which is especially useful when you consider that a dog's sense of smell is 40 times more powerful than ours.
The Holistic Hounds Calming Spritz is made from lavender and chamomile hydrosols. With this mixture it is especially important to use a hydrosol rather than the essential oils as lavender, when over used, an act as a stimulant. This is an ideal dog calming spray to use either before or during an event that your dog finds stressful or exciting.
The Holistic Hounds Soothing Spritz is made from chamomile and tea tree hydrosols. Again, it is important that this mixture is made from a hydrosol as tea tree can be toxic to your dog when used in too high a concentration. This is an ideal dog calming spray to use after an event that your dog finds stressful or exciting to help them recover.
When looking for a dog calming spray it is often a case of trying them all until you find the one that best suits your dog.
